Top sights:
Calpe is known for its beaches and historical old town centre.
Just down from there are the Queen’s Baths (Baños de la Reina), a recently excavated site dating from the Roman occupation of the Iberian penninsula. It features delightful rock-cut sea pools where you can relax away from the waves and take in the view.
Below the Calpe Rock lie the ruins of Pobla de Ifac, a medieval walled village.

So the choice is do you want to sit on the beach with loads of others or do you prefer to be somewhere out of the way. The choice really is yours.
The Department of Tourism gave the five main tourist beaches of Calpe their official quality flags.
Three beaches were also awarded the prestigious European Blue Flag for their high standards: La Fossa, Cantal Roig, and Plaja Arenal-Bol.
History around every corner!
Calpe is a town rich in history and culture and its strategic position on the coast has attracted many voyagers and settlers throughout history.
Remains of Iberian tribes have been found around the town. Later, the Romans founded Calpe as a prosperous colony, whose main activity was drying and salting fish.
Fiestas and fireworks
Gunpowder, running street battles, fireworks and music fill the air in Calpe as the town re-enacts the time when the Christians overthrew the Moors and reclaimed the land.
This is a fun time of street battles, firecrackers and high drama to relive an important part of Spain, these “Fiestas” take place in October.

There are four golf courses in the neighbourhood. Two golf courses are direct in the neighbourhood La Sella golf course and Ifach golf. For your holiday on the Costa Blanca we offer you now several arrangements and activities.
"Calp" or "Calpe"?
There are purists on each side about the name of the town, and like many things, it depends on your background.
Calpe and the whole of the Costa Blanca are in the Alicante Province, the southern third of the wider Valencia region.
The powerhouse city of Valencia is just 90 minutes to the north, and the Valencian language (llengua valenciana) name for the valencià meridional locality is simply “Calp“. The southern Valencian dialect spoken in Calpe is similar to the other Catalan languages up and down the Mediterranean coast.
However, standard Spanish speakers use “Calpe” to denote the name of the Costa Blanca resort town. We use this more common version of the name throughout our site.
